Happy Holidays to my human friends, family and fans. I love Thanksgiving and Christmas. I love turkey and anything that happens to get dropped on the floor while all the visitors are here. I love to open Christmas presents. Doesn't matter what's inside, I like the opening part!
I am so thankful this year for still being here. I've been sick, but I'm now on the road to recovery. I'll give you the short version of what happened to me. If you want details, go to my human Mom's blog: http://www.susieisaacs.blogspot.com/. She tells the whole thing in all the messy poop detail. The short version is, first I turned 15 and then I got sick. I felt drunk which makes me wonder why on earth humans would purposefully overindulge. Anyway, I was way under the weather and I actually thought for a few days that it was getting close to my time to go and visit with Mimi, my human grandmother who is in heaven waiting on me. Mom stopped giving me my favorite treats but she does let me have chicken and beef now - and I'm not talking dog food! I don't know what the future holds, but for now, I am back and feeling so much better! I will be able to enjoy the holidays and I hope you do too.
My other big news is that my book, "Bette, I Have a Tale to Tell" is now available on Kindle!
I am a 13-year old Lhasa Apso who has written my memoirs in a book called Bette - I Have a Tail to Tell.

I Am Not a Sissy!
Since I last took a notion to blog, we fur people in this house have all had a birthday. I am now 15 - that's really getting up there in human years! The pups are no longer pups as they had their first birthday. I see my youth in them and wonder ... was I as big a pain-in-the-ass as they are to me?
My human grandmother used to say, "Aging is not for sissies!" I know I am slower than I once was. I used to fly up those stairs. I don't fly anymore but I can still get up them to my paradise where Monkey Face (Re-Raise - the black one) and White Beans (Raise - the white one) are not allowed. I have found a way to play with them without them jumping at me and scaring me to death. I have a balcony in my paradise that overlooks the downstairs den. I can stand there and bark at them. They hate it because they can see me but they can't get to me. So I just prance and dance and bark at them. We three have a bark fest until one of our humans yells at us.
My humans, Blondie and Blue Eyes are not sissies either. I hear them say, "We can't turn back the clock so we may as well embrace it." So I have decided to embrace and enjoy these last chapters of my life. I get the best treats first and I know in my heart that I am the favorite.

Paw Prints of Interest
Okay, okay, I will blog more. Many have told me to stop being lazy and get off my "tail" and tell the world what I think. So, here goes. I watch TV with my humans. Lately, a human named Chuckie Shine (or something like that) is all over everywhere. My humans shake their head and say something like this, "He is delusional. He thinks he is above the laws of God or man."
It seems this Chuck fellow is so rich that it makes him goofy and he thinks he's bigger and more important than Big Dog. I think he could really get attention by giving some money to help homeless humans who need it or lots could be done for homeless fur people.
It seems to me that "stars" that get too full of themselves, have too much money, and take drugs, end up lost. If they are so smart, why can't they figure this out? Their fans are a little lost too.
On another subject, my humans were very worried when the earth quaked in New Zealand. Their friends Phyllis and Milt Meyers were in a church, I think they called it Christchurch, on vacation. They worried for days and even contacted the Red Cross (who, they said were most helpful) and then a wonderful thing happened, the Meyers got in touch to say that they had left New Zealand before the quaking began! I wish the world more miracles like this.
I had a problem last week, but I am okay now. They took me to see the man in the white coat. As usual, he was very sweet to me and talked to me in a kind voice. Then, just when I think I like him, he sticks a needle in my behind. My humans say I have to have these "shots" once a year to stay healthy. Well, I didn't feel so healthy for a couple of day afterward. I even got bad runny wags. I made a few messes. It was embarrassing, but my humans did not yell at me at all. They just cleaned it up and choo-chee-cooed me more than usual. I've heard about older humans who have accidents like I did and a helper puts a diaper on them. My humans did not do that to me and my dignity is in tact.
The little ones, Raise and Re-Raise, now outweigh me! The little girl who I call White Beans is about 14 lbs. and the boy, Banana Brains is a moose. I heard Blondie groan the last time she picked him up and said, "This boy must be over 20 lbs!"
I'll close for now with a question. The "kids" are called Lasapoos because they are half Lhasa Apso and half Poodle. So, if they were half bulldog and half Shitzu would they be called Bullshit doggies?

My You Tube Debut
They have finally done it! They realize who is the star of this family - ME! I am now on You Tube watching my favorite TV show. What is it, you ask. "Ellen"! I love her philosophy of life because we think so much alike. I'll give you an example: From my autobiorgraphy "Bette, I Have a Tail to Tell", Chapter 7 - I Have Some Digging to Do - (The last few sentences read,)Speaking of the news, I wish they would talk more about happy things. Sometimes my humans get that water in the eyes look when they listen and watch the news. I encourage them to pay more attention to me at these times. Big Dog (Bette's God) says to think of good things. I try to do this all the time. It’s not easy. I think the important thing is to keep trying. Try watching TV shows that are about doing good and feeling good ... one for all and all for Coo-Chee-Coo.
Ellen and I agree on the important things in life: Live, Love, Laugh, Dance - Be Happy!
Brown Eyes took a a video of me watching my show and right to You Tube it went!I am a 10-second star! Check me out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FDtOp5TnyU

Mud Slinging
Well, Christmas has come and gone and I have to admit, it was kind of fun watching the little ones enjoy their first Christmas. Like micro-humans, they preferred to play with the ribbons, bows, and boxes rather than the surprise inside. It's kind of funny to call them the "little ones" since they both now outweigh me. I guess the "young ones" is a better description. We had a lot of company over the holidays and, again I have to admit, they were pretty well behaved. Blondie and Brown Eyes have put a lot of time into training them. They still have a long way to go and they still annoy the heck out of me, especially if I am trying to nap and they want to play with me. Re-Raise, or Mr. Re as the humans call him or Banana Brains as I call him is the worse. He barks too much and when he isn't barking he is making grunting and guttural mumbling sounds like he is trying to talk human language. He even does this mumble-talk in his sleep. I hear Blondie and Brown Eyes talk about his barking. They say that they have to walk a fine line. They want him to bark and act as an alarm if an unwanted human is approaching the house, but they don't want him to bark his head off when the wind blows. I'm glad I don't have human dilemmas.
He may be the boy, but White Beans (Raise) is definitely a tom-boy. She is addicted to digging while he just stands back and watches. I'd like to think that he is smart enough to know that digging results in, at the very least, a half bath and that she is going to have to go through that wet routine every time she comes in mud-covered, but he isn't that smart. She looks so dainty and girlie ... until she takes a notion to dig.
I guess my New Year's resolution should be to try and be a little more patient with the two heathens. It appears they are here to stay so I may as well make the best of it.
